Diane Hatch has been in touch to say that she is in the process of organising another "Truly Crafted" craft fair at Brightlingsea Community Association Centre (Lower Park Road, Brightlingsea, Essex CO7 0LG) on the 2nd August 2009, and that she is looking for crafters who hand-make their own items, and are interested in exibiting their goods.

Diane says: " It is our second fair at this lovely venue following the success of our last fair in May. I am full as far as jewellery is concerned but am interested in any other crafts (but no mixed crafts) The whole ethos of the event is "truly crafted" so no bought in items or franchises, just crafts by the crafters. I am trying to bring craft fairs back to how they used to be and trying to support local crafts men and women (of which I am one!)"

If you are interested, you can contact Diane via email at moonbeam.mosaics[at]googlemail.com, or via the Facebook page for the event.

Some updates to Craft Links page.

A new series started on Channel 4 last night - Kirstie's Homemade Home. It follows Kirstie Allsop as she embarks on a mission to renovate, furnish and decorate her new house - with as many recycled, reused and handmade things as possible.

The first episode centered on her kitchen and included crafts such as pottery, glassblowing and sewing, as well as giving some quick tips on finding a bargain in the markets, and how to go about skip-diving.

It's well worth a watch if you're into crafts, and airs Thursdays, 8pm GMT on Channel 4.

A couple more links have been added to the craft links page, and our Handmade Crafts Supporters list now has over a hundred signatures - hopefully not too long before we get to 150 or even 200!

In terms of site development, work is continuing in the background - don't worry. We're expecting to release the next (major) new element of the site around the beginning of the summer, or before if possible - sign the supporters list and you'll be among the first to know!
