Win a Spectacular Scorched Sign from Hectic Eclectic!
Halloween is nearly here and the nights are closing in. The end of October already - and the end of the year almost in sight! You'd be forgiven for thinking we'd forgotten all about you this month, but we really haven't - and we're back with a hot giveaway to cheer you all up!
The rules are: to enter, visit our sponsor's link(s) (at the end of the post) and post a comment here, telling us which of the items you've seen is your favourite. Entries are accepted at our discretion and the winner will be chosen at random. The giveaway will close at midnight (GMT) on Sunday 3rd November 2013.
If you'd like to sponsor one of our giveaways, just get in touch with us for a bit more information. It's not hard to take part and is a great way to advertise your makes!
This month is kindly sponsored by Chris and Heidi from Hectic Eclectic, but why don't I let Chris tell you all about that...
Hi, my name's Chris and together with my girlfriend Heidi we are Hectic Eclectic. Heidi is the hectic one, and I'm an eclectic (this is still up for debate but I'm a gentleman so it's ladies first).
We live in the heart of the Brecon Beacons in South Wales, in a beautiful valley nestled amongst the mountains and rivers.
From here I work as a pyrographer and Heidi works full-time as a software consultant and part-time as a web developer (check out our site as an ample example of her web page assemblage).
Amongst the eclectic mix of multifarious miscellany I scorch are house signs, Celtic knot boxes, kanji tea light holders, giant tea and biscuits coasters, proverb signs, kitchen utensils and steampunk boxes.
Along with bending the internet to her will, Heidi is also a fantastic photographer, and some of her snaps are available as prints and cards.
They make great gift items for the people special to you, or for yourself – because you deserve a treat.
Drop by the website and have a look around. There you'll also discover we've been blogging about all manner of things, from Greek mythology to consciousness, via gravity and poetry, with a stop off here and there to visit a food festival or two.
Up for grabs this month is a choice of proverb signs, one says "A garden is like a book carried in the pocket", an ancient proverb of disputed origin, and the other says "Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish", which is a quote from Ovid's Heroides. They are scorched onto pieces of birch ply measuring 200mm in diameter, and can be hung or displayed anywhere in the home, office, or even garden shed.
Enjoy this month's giveaway, and good luck!
