Hi, I'm Kella!

Hi I am Kella of Kella's Creative Wishes which started out as a blogshop which was launched last year October 2009. I have been an avid crafter and creator almost all my life and have dabbled in many mediums all self taught.

Kella's Creative Wishes aim to provide handmade items that are affordable, unique and enjoyable to wear or use depending on the item. The unique one of a kind items are perfect for gift giving or treating yourself.

Currently my product range is mainly jewellery but plans to expand my greeting card range are in the making.

Recently I have become very interested in art beads and handmade focal pieces which I like to incorporate into my designs. This has sparked an interest in the creating my own handmade focal pieces from scratch which can be used not only by myself but by others in their own jewellery designs, hence my new pendant range.

I try to make the pendants/focal pieces multi use, meaning they can be incorporated into a necklace design in many different ways, not just hanging as a pendant (although they can do that too).

Its important that the upcycled theme continue to be an element in my designs even with these newer pieces and so reusable materials are what I first think about when starting or planning a new design for a focal piece.

May Giveaway Prizes by Kella!

Giveaway Prizes from Kella

The three focal pieces I have donated for the giveaway are all based on similarly made designs that can be found in my blogshop.

Minibook from Kella

The mini books are great fun to create and are made of upcycled leather. It has 16 pages that can be used to jot down your thoughts, or you can mount tiny photos of your loved ones.

Embroidered leather from Kella

The embroidered leather is also the product of upcycled leather and can be used in a bracelet or necklace design according to how it is attached (see mini sketch above), it is backed with felt to ensure it feels comfortable against the skin when worn.

Poppy Pendant from Kella

Scrap copper wire is used to frame a hand painted piece of raw cotton which is backed with felt for comfort and weight. It can be used either as a hanging pendant with the option of having dangles attached to the copper jumprings (the jumprings can also be removed completely) or the item can be incorporated into the necklace design as shown in the mini sketch of a design possibility.

Upcycled leather earrings from Kella The pair of earrings are also created from upcycled leather, which has been accordion folded into shape before adding a silver coloured headpin and pretty lilac coloured dangles and glass beads.

The pieces for the giveaway would normally retail for £26.00.

I love the little leather books with all the beads and threads hanging off. I imagine that the magical look of these books would inspire all sorts of interesting things to write inside.

I adore the beaded book thongs... I can imagine twiddling it about as I read.. and you're right, why shouldn't books have bling too?

I love the books! They look like little books for fairys or some other strange garden creature. Would be great to use to write down inspiring quotes, or even just as a decorative item. I can really imagine on of these books in a moss covered summer house or something similar.

Enchanting.

The little books remind me of my childhood days of wandering around the Parsonage In Haworth looking at the tiny books on display that the Bronte sisers made as children, I used to go home and try to do the same, but the brontes books didn't have the bling attached of course! ;)
