Handmade Crafts Directory is FREE..

.. and always will be!

As you've no doubt noticed, we are working on getting some of our bigger plans for Handmade Crafts up and running. Progress is slow, but it's because this website is a labour of love - not something we do for profit.

And thats why it's free and will continue to be. We don't charge for links - and to be clear, we aren't planning to start charging for publishing crafts press releases, links or sponsored listings.

This presents us with one dilemma - administrating, maintaining and developing the site costs time and money, which is why at the start we chose to offer advertising blocks. You can learn more about the various options on our Crafts Advertising page.

We'd also like to welcome our latest advertiser - UK Craft Fairs - their support is greatly appreciated - and their website is fab too. So if you're trying to find (or promote) a fair, we would definitely recommend that you check them out.

How we can help you promote your crafts

We've had a little bit of criticism recently over our self promotional approach - to which our response was simple. Of course we promote ourselves! The power of sites like this one comes from how well known and promoted they are - otherwise there isn't much point in being linked from them. We hope you all understand!

Of course, we (Mattched IT) get a bit of exposure too, but the aim behind Handmade Crafts really is to help the wonderful (and important) crafts community.

So, a quick re-cap on how we can help promote your sites:

  • Linking from our craft links directory
  • Publishing Press Releases your events, product launches and other news
  • Featuring you in our craft blog give-aways (there is a waiting list!)

More soon, we hope, but in the mean time if you're interested in any of the above, just contact us for more information.

And finally a couple of thank-yous..

Our next give-away will be launching in a couple of weeks time. Stay tuned. We're just about to contact the crafter we'd like to feature, so should have more news soon.

A big thank-you to Kev Jaques at MultiLayer Design, our very talented web designer who has just done a bit of work for us to improve the blog post archive on the right - changes will be up soon. Without Kev, this site would be pretty fugly - and our code would be pretty worthless!

And finally a massive thanks to all of you for your support. We'd have given up a long time ago if it wasn't for you lot. You're great.
